Plastics / Re: 3-D printed vases.

Fascinating Anne! I've found there is a place near us that collects up plastic lids and shreds them to create new plastic and then creates new items from that. So far they do combs and plant pots, but vases might be the next step, who knows!

« Last post by JeffTheGreat on January 17, 2023, 02:56:59 AM »
I am not sure what this is. It appears to be porcelain and it is about the size of a smoking pipe.

Any one recognize the logo?

What's my Pottery? / Re: Royal Bayreuth mold/ not Royal Bayreuth?

  Another example from the web.
Clay separation I assume happened during firing of the body, since sealed by the glaze.
Is it not odd that the two examples said to be marked are not exactly the same? I realize that the colors could be different. The red example has more piercings along the upper edge than the green example.

What's my Pottery? / Royal Bayreuth mold/ not Royal Bayreuth?

I can't figure out the what and why of this porcelain pitcher. Seems to be a Royal Bayreuth mold as evidenced by marked examples found on the internet.

My uncolored glazed example has a hollow handle. the number 43 and cipher [ HC reversed? ] molded in the base. Conjoined initials EA neatly  scratched into the wet clay. A wiping of the glaze on the outside bottom edge is evident before firing. Any thought most welcome, as I am at wits end on this piece

What's my Pottery? / Lovely signed blue part-glazed belly-shaped mug - maker sought

I spotted this in the kitchen of a community centre I was helping out in, and liked it, so took a couple of photos to see if I can find the potter who made it, so I can source some like it. But, I can't read the base - can anyone identify this for me please?

Plastics / 3-D printed vases.
« Last post by Anne E.B. on August 23, 2022, 02:01:20 PM »
A sign of more things to come!  My set of three swirl vases which I've since found out are 3-D printed thermoplastic.  They're really lightweight.  Apparently according to the designer/maker https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Vantage3DPrints?ref=l2-about-shopname  they are made using a biodegradable plastic made from cornstarch "PLA".    Incredible stuff!

I've since been told it's probably Mason's Ironstone 'zig zag wall pattern' think it's transfer printed.  ;D

It was Frank, but the pages are on archive.org, so I've updated the link to go to that.  Thanks for flagging this up. :)
